School feeding, also known as schools meals, have been part of the education system since pre-independence times. The school meals programme began as a pilot in 1963 in Mbabane ans Manzini witha grant from Save the Children Fund - UK with additional funds coming in 1965 from Oxfam UK. At this time parents had to pay for the food.
This TB National Strategic Plan (TB NSP) 2015-2019 is a successor plan for the 2010-2014, TB NSP. The goal of the 2015-2019 TB National Strategic Plan (TB NSP) is to achieve a 35% reduction of TB prevalence rate by 2019 to 907/100,000 of 2013. The NSP is based on five objectives for the next fives years as follows:
1. To increase TB case detection rates from 46% in 2013 to 70% in 2017 and 80% by 2019
2. To increase TB treatment success rates for all bacteriologically confirmes cases from 72.9% in 2013 to 90% by 2019
The Swaziland Male Circumcision Strategic and Operational Plan for HIV Prevention 2014-2018 builds on the achievements of the Strategy and Implementation Plan for Scaling up Safe Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention 2009-2013. Developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Health, the 2014-2018 plan outlines the next phase of the national program to scale up male circumcision (MC) for HIV prevention. Voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) is a critical pillar of Swaziland’s HIV response.
In view of the need to involve all stakeholders in the national response the country has adopted the multisectoral approach in responding to HIV and AIDS.
